From customer request to product

Special customized projects or standard products all have one single target: user satisfaction.

To reach this target, in product development we systematically consider ideas, experiences and suggestions from our customers to meet their specific requirements.

On average one in five SCHATZ AG employees works in development. Innovation, top quality and primarily 100% fulfilment of customer requirements are the targets set for our development departments.

If this capable development team is stretched to its limits, links have been established for many years with external engineering bureaus and Institutes. Particularly noteworthy in this regard is our cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institut, which ensures that the most modern technologies and associated industries are deployed for the benefit of our customers.

Quality assurance within the company

Complex electronic circuits in multi-layer technology (up to five layers), SMD equipment with over 200 junctions require complex checking and testing. Using our own in-circuit tester all elements on the platinum are checked for correct components and correct position. The integrated circuits, which have up to 64 connections, are tested for unbroken contact and the through contacts vital for multi layer technology are tested. A complete final test for these highly complex electronic circuits lasts around 2 minutes using the in-circuit tester.

Sensors – heavy industrial workers with a light touch

SCHATZ sensors meet the high demand to combine precision measurement technology with a robust exterior.

A SCHATZ torque sensor contains more than might be suspected from its robust external casing. Signals from the measuring shaft are transmitted to the measurement electronics by means of an innovative, maintenance free transmission system allowing it to be used without wearing for 100 million cycles

Each sensor is equipped with an electronic identification system, so that as soon as it is connected the model and serial number are automatically recorded to permit unbroken documentation about which measurement devices have currently been used to carry out tests. This identification is performed thanks to an integrated chip, which stores all the key data about the sensor. The system must only be connected to them then calibrates itself hand in hand with the electronics, so that no further input of effort is required from the user.
